Despite the rain we had over 450 registered participants, 60+ volunteers, an amazing team of vendors and a great list of sponsors!
Thank you to our race photographer Photos by Sarah Beth for these beautiful moments from the race!
Breeze thru the Trees is a 5k cross country run in Laytonsville, MD with a mission of bringing kindness and inclusion to our community. Proceeds benefit Red Wiggler Community Farm, a sustainable farm in Montgomery County where people with and without developmental disabilities come together to work, learn, and grow healthy food. A portion of proceeds support Peace of Hearts, an organization dedicated to spreading awareness of the impact that healthy lifestyle choices have on our ability to prevent and suppress life-threatening illnesses.
Breeze Thru The Trees is the heart project of the Ruppert siblings and our spouses.
We believe that in a time when dissension makes headlines, cooperation, kindness, teamwork and inclusion need a voice.
We want to remember that these virtues still exist in our community. That America is a place filled with humans of all shapes, sizes, colors and faiths and that these differences are beautiful! But it does require work. It takes work to understand people who are different from ourselves and to find a common ground and mission. We believe that choosing to work together with love, kindness and compassion is our hope.
This is where Breeze Thru The Trees was born. A way to make the work of coming together as a community fun and a way to support an organization that brings the vision of a healthy and inclusive community to life.
So please join us on June 3, 2018 for the second annual Breeze through the Trees, a 5k race and fun run held on our family's 500 acre tree farm in Laytonsville, MD!
